Catholic Wellbeing Professional

This part-time temporary position commences in January 2025 and concludes in January 2026. The role is dependent upon NSWP funding.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Student Wellbeing Officer will support the emotional wellbeing of students at St Mary's Catholic College, Casino. As a National School Wellbeing Program staff member, you will be part of a whole-school approach to pastoral care.
Requirements- A valid NSW Working with Children Check
- Compliance with the Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead Policy upon appointment
- A minimum qualification or qualifications equivalent to or higher than a Certificate IV as determined by the States
The qualification must include competencies in both mental health and making appropriate referrals, as well as providing pastoral care and/or working with youth. Teachers, social workers, counsellors, or psychologists in training are also eligible.
Criteria- Experience in supporting children and/or young people addressing social and emotional needs
- Ability to support schools and teachers in identifying and developing educational, social, and emotional programs for vulnerable or at-risk children and young people
- Capacity to liaise with community service organisations
- Experience in mentoring children and/or young people
- Well-developed organisational and time management skills with the capacity to work effectively independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated commitment to personal faith practice
Your application should address the above criteria and nominate two referees. An estimated salary for this role is approximately $60,000 - $70,000 per annum, based on location and industry standards.
