Opportunity Overview:

We are seeking highly skilled and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Personal Academic Mentors. This role involves providing exceptional tutoring services to students in their homes or a library, promoting academic success and confidence.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing personalized tutoring sessions to students, including evenings, weekends & school holiday periods.
  • Communicating effectively with parents, other agencies, and relevant stakeholders to schedule lessons and report progress.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student development and performance.
  • Displaying respect, empathy, and sensitivity towards students with high-level needs.
  • Assisting students with completing set activities given from school, e.g., Homework, Assessment, general skills.
  • Supporting senior students with career development and redirection as necessary.
  • Maintaining student progression and performing regular checks.
  • Communicating with parents regarding further learning options and advice that will benefit students.
  • Working with students who have learning and physical disabilities.
  • Listening to students' reading.
  • Reading aloud and storytelling.
  • Helping students build self-confidence and motivation.
  • Completing end-of-term reports.
  • Supporting students with mental health and general attributes.

Requirements:

  • Current registration as a teacher, trainee, graduate, or university student.
  • Ability to obtain a BlueCard if not already held.
  • Availability to work a minimum of 5 hours per week.
  • Flexibility to work around personal, study, or other commitments.
