About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Water Networks Planning Engineer to join our National Asset Management and Planning team in Australia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and undertake technical assessments of water supply and sewerage networks to address drivers such as growth, compliance, network performance improvement, and renewals.
  • Develop strategic and master plans, options assessments, feasibility investigations, and detailed planning projects.
  • Prepare business cases and technical reports for medium to large projects.
  • Supervise and coordinate project team members to achieve project outcomes and meet client objectives and expectations.
  • Participate in industry associations and comply with all roles-specific SHEQ obligations.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have experience leading the delivery of efficient and effective engineering consultancy services to public and private sector clients.

You will have experience and/or qualifications in:

  • Providing technical expertise across a broad range of projects.
  • Planning of water supply and sewerage networks and an understanding of their operation.
  • Preparing and delivering effective and engaging presentations and workshops.
  • Leading project scoping or proposal development.
  • Developing and maintaining client relationships and business development.
  • Developing skills to identify risk in medium/large profile projects.
  • Understanding and implementation of hydraulic principles, including some experience in hydraulic modeling.
  • Analytics techniques and use of decision support methodologies such as MCA, risk assessments, opportunities and constraints, costs and benefits, etc.
  • The use of GIS and Excel to interrogate and assess data.
  • Preparation of reports and maps.

Proven local experience in water engineering and previous experience in a consultancy environment are highly desirable.

We are looking for someone who can deliver the best client outcomes and options, saving the client cost and time.

Knowledge of project management, including managing the scope of multiple projects and leading resources, is also essential.

A recognized Bachelor's Degree (Engineering) or Equivalent is required, and Chartered status CPENG is an advantage.
