Look no further as this part-time Dental Assistant Traineeship (16-20 hours per week) is designed to set you on the path to success. You will work alongside skilled professionals, receive top-notch training, and become a valued member of the dental profession.

No prior experience is necessary as comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided to ensure you gain the skills and knowledge required to excel in your role.

The Dental Assistant plays an integral part in any dental office team, working closely with patients and colleagues every day to provide a positive experience for all.

As a Trainee Dental Assistant, you will study dentistry techniques and perform general office duties, including a range of patient care and laboratory tasks.

Key responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Greet patients and prepare them for treatment
  • Mix materials for fillings; sterilise and prepare instruments
  • Arrange and hand instruments, medication and dental materials to practitioners
  • Prepare dental materials and develop x-rays
  • Use suction devices and water sprays
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment
  • May advise patients on dental health education and post-operative care
  • May act as receptionist for dental practitioners, perform billing and other clerical tasks.
  • Maintaining high standards of infection control
  • Any other tasks requested by the host employer

Duties will require strong attention to detail, good dexterity skills, high level of personal presentation, great listening abilities and compassionate nature.
