Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Career Medical Officer to fill this challenging position at our hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for a medical professional to be part of the General Medicine Department and work with a diverse range of patients, collaborating with other staff members in all aspects of patient care.

The successful candidate will possess qualifications and experience commensurate with the Essential Requirements, including demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, high level communication skills, organisational and time management skills.

This role involves providing effective clinical management of ward inpatients across all acute and subacute wards and the Coronary Care Unit (CCU), consulting with relevant specialists and junior doctors, and supervising after-hours ward JMOs.

Key responsibilities include assessing patients, making treatment decisions, performing procedures, maintaining accurate medical records, and ensuring seamless clinical handover at the end of each shift.

  1. Patient Assessment: Evaluate patients' conditions, identify treatment options, and develop appropriate care plans.
  2. Clinical Management: Provide effective clinical management of ward inpatients, including medication administration, vital sign monitoring, and coordination of care.
  3. Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including specialists, junior doctors, and nursing staff.
  4. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and thorough medical records, documenting patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes.
