Position Overview:
We are in search of a highly qualified and seasoned Senior Hydrologist/Surface Water Engineer to enhance our team. The successful candidate will possess a profound knowledge of hydrology and surface water management, particularly with proficiency in TUFLOW and HEC-RAS. This position will entail overseeing projects, offering technical direction, and delivering solutions that tackle intricate water management issues in both the mining and renewable energy fields.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and direct hydrological and surface water engineering projects from inception to completion.
- Employ TUFLOW and HEC-RAS for comprehensive hydrological and hydraulic modeling, analysis, and reporting.
- Formulate and execute water management strategies that endorse sustainable practices in mining and renewable energy initiatives.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to weave water management solutions into broader project frameworks.
- Draft and evaluate technical reports, design documents, and compliance documentation.
- Provide guidance and technical assistance to junior staff and colleagues.
- Interact with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory entities to ensure project goals are achieved and compliance standards are met.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Hydrology, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience in hydrology and surface water engineering, focusing on mining and renewable energy projects.
- Proficiency in TUFLOW and HEC-RAS for hydrological and hydraulic modeling.
- Strong grasp of pertinent environmental regulations and compliance standards.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and project management capabilities.
- Ability to function effectively in a collaborative team setting and convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
