Senior Tax Accountant Role Overview

The Senior Tax Accountant will serve as a key professional in the management of indirect tax compliance and reporting requirements for our organization. They will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of monthly GST returns, ensuring ongoing compliance with regulatory and tax risk management framework.

  • Manage indirect tax compliance and reporting requirements, including GST returns
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory and tax risk management framework
  • Contribute to enhancement activities and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Execute business line initiatives such as applying tax law changes

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation of monthly GST returns
  • Manage indirect tax compliance and reporting requirements
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards

Requirements:

For this role, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional with a strong understanding of corporate tax reporting requirements, including GST, fringe benefits tax, and payroll tax. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, a high level of numeracy, and a proven track record in a tax or accounting role.

  • Proven experience in a tax or accounting role, ideally within a medium to large chartered accounting firm or a large commercial organization
  • Strong understanding of corporate tax reporting requirements, including GST, fringe benefits tax, and payroll tax
  • Highly numerate, detail-oriented, and possess excellent analytical skills
  • Tertiary qualification in Business or Commerce and member of a recognized professional Accounting and/or Tax association
