Job Overview

The successful candidate will be part of a team that supports the MyTime Program in St Marys, connecting people to strengthen child, family, and community well-being through playing, learning, and building communities of support.

We are seeking an individual with a strong background in early childhood education and experience working with children with special needs. The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively with participants about the specific needs of their child and support parents in implementing positive strategies to assist with their development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop effective communication strategies to engage with participants and understand their child's needs.
  • Support parents in implementing evidence-based strategies to enhance their child's development.
  • Maintain a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment that promotes learning and engagement.
  • Interact positively with children and parents, encouraging participation, language development, self-help skills, and social interactions.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Selection Criteria:

  • Cert III in Child Related Studies or equivalent.
  • Experience working in early childhood settings and capacity to work with children with special needs.
  • Strong understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
  • Well-developed knowledge of play-based practices and positive parenting strategies.
  • A proven ability to work with diverse families, including culturally and linguistically diverse, Indigenous, and vulnerable groups.
  • Ability to lift children and equipment when required.
  • Working with Children Check verification letter and COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate required.
  • First Aid Certificate preferred.
  • A comprehensively insured vehicle and current driver's licence essential.
