About the Role

Civmec is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Civil team on the Western Range project in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.

Project Overview

The Western Range project is a major construction contract for Rio Tinto, involving the construction of a new Run of Mine (ROM) pad, primary crushing facility, overland conveying circuit, and modifications to the Coarse Ore Stockpile (COS) and downstream conveying system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing and positioning plant for operation
  • Operating controls to excavate, break, drill, level, compact, gouge out, move, load, and spread earth, rock, rubble, soil, and other materials
  • Monitoring operation of plant and adjusting controls to regulate pressure, speed, and flow of operation, and ensuring safety of other workers
  • Servicing, lubricating, cleaning, and refueling plant and performing minor adjustments and repairs
  • Other general duties as required, such as yard and work-site cleaning, storage-area maintenance, and spotting duties
Requirements
  • Years of industrial experience as an Operator
  • Nationally Recognised Construction Safety Awareness Card
  • Driver's License
  • Previous construction experience on a remote project within the mining and resources sector (preferable)
