Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Operations Manager to join our team at PJ & JR Phillips Pty Ltd. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with strong financial leadership skills to take on a key role in the company's finance function.

About the Role:

  • This position will be responsible for providing strategic financial guidance and support to the executive management team.
  • You will oversee the overall finance functions, including management reporting, audit support, budgeting, accounts payable and receivable, and payroll.
  • The successful candidate will have proven experience as a Financial Manager and will possess extensive understanding of financial trends both within the company and general market patterns.
  • A strong user of finance software and proficient in financial reporting and tax experience are also essential for this role.
  • You will work closely with the management team to develop and implement financial strategies that drive business growth and profitability.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Financial Manager or equivalent role.
  • Extensive understanding of financial trends both within the company and general market patterns.
  • Proficient user of finance software.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong financial reporting and tax experience.
  • A thorough understanding of financial governance practices.
  • Able to manage, guide, and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are followed.
  • A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
  • Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to managerial staff while recommending further courses of action.
  • Keep up to date with monthly payroll documents and ensure that all other statutory requirements are met.
  • Completing the BAS reconciliation and all other required related taxation obligations.
  • Advise on investment activities and provide strategies that the company should take.
  • Maintain the financial health of the organisation.
  • Analyse costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results, and the company's actual performance compared to the business plans.
  • Develop trends and projections for the firm's finances.
  • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals, and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met.
  • Manage the preparation of the company's budget.
  • Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained.
  • Assist in determining the company's proper capital structure.
  • Arrange for equity and debt financing.
  • Recommend appropriate dividend issuance based on historical dividend patterns and expected cash flows.
  • Review company bottlenecks and recommend changes to improve the overall level of company throughput.
  • Participate in target costing activities to create products that meet predetermined price.
  • Assist the determination of product pricing in relation to features offered and competitor pricing.
  • Compile key business metrics and report on them to management.
  • Manage the capital budgeting process based on constraint analysis and discounted cash flow analysis.
  • Create additional analyses and reports as requested by management.
