The Accounts Payable Officer plays a crucial role in our financial operations by accurately entering invoices into the accounting system on time. This ensures cost reduction and maximises supplier satisfaction. Invoices are loaded into the system to meet monthly deadlines and payment runs are prepared and processed according to priority of payment terms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • All financial transactions are carried out with precision and adherence to company policy & procedures
  • Any issues with accounts payable are resolved promptly or referred to your Supervisor for resolution
  • Loading invoices into the accounting system accurately guarantees that all details are correct (including supplier name, amount, GST portions, tax dates, and expense codes)
  • Aim to enter all invoices that come in daily
  • Reconcile supplier statements each month, request missing invoices and identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Meet the deadline set each end of month for data entry to maintain alignment with monthly reporting
  • Identify problems, attempt to find solutions or alternatives in early stages
  • Implement procedures to enhance the efficiency of the Accounts Department and minimise losses

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previous experience within Accounts Payable with strong analytical and numerical skills
  • Thrives in a high volume invoicing environment
  • Deep understanding and confidence in using Microsoft Excel
  • Masters the art of excellent verbal and written communication, with a keen attention to detail
  • Effective time management abilities, to handle workload and meet strict deadlines
