Research and Intelligence Position

The Research Analyst role offers a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to thought leadership and intelligence capital in the market.

This position requires effective collaboration to achieve successful research execution and project leadership, building on experience gained over time.

The Research Analyst will be responsible for supporting a wide range of research projects representing client deliverables and developing new research initiatives in response to evolving market conditions.

  • Assist in timely delivery of existing ongoing research publications.
  • Contribute to creating new research content processes.
  • Support Sales team in identifying and scoping new opportunities.
  • Engage with the team to refine and establish new research processes, methodologies, and research formats to optimize research workflow, quality of research insights, and their relevance to clients.
  • Provide consulting and analytical support for recurring and new research projects.
  • Demonstrate care, precision, diligence, and thoughtfulness in executing research analytics, report production, and verification processes.
  • Proactively share knowledge and understanding of industry developments with team members, both formally and informally.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Tertiary qualification in mathematics, economics, statistics, or finance.
  • Preferably a minimum of 5 years' experience in financial services, focusing on wealth management industries, or experience with a market research firm or consulting business active in financial services. A longer track record is beneficial.
  • Understanding of life insurance products (Retail, Direct, Group), retirement products (superannuation, income stream/annuities), and managed investments.
  • Familiarity with Australian financial regulators and financial markets.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude, analysis, forecasting/modelling skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and conflicting demands.
  • Proficiency in PC applications, including spreadsheet and database analysis, and standard office software.
