The Sterilisation Services Attendant plays a crucial role in the reprocessing of reusable medical devices, ensuring timely and efficient supply to various departments within the hospital. This position requires demonstrated experience in Sterilisation Services, knowledge of infection control principles, and understanding of reusable medical devices and disinfection/sterilisation methods.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to the development of an integrated team approach and culture responsive to consumer needs.
- Undertake training as required and maintain required skills and knowledge applicable to the role.
- Reprocess reusable medical devices in accordance with AS5369:2023.
- Monitor, report, and record any malfunctions of equipment or issues of non-compliance.
- Demonstrate a sound understanding of the English language.
- Ability to interpret complex instructions and procedures.
- Experience working well as an individual or team member in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to cooperate with staff at all levels.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and work with a wide range of people from different cultures, backgrounds, and circumstances.
- Completion of AQF Certificate 3 in Sterilisation Services or equivalent and at least 560 hours satisfactory in-service experience within a sterile supply department.
