Occupational Therapist Opportunity

MSWA is currently seeking a passionate Occupational Therapist to become part of our growing department. As a key member of our team, you will deliver comprehensive OT services for individuals living with neurological conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Parkinson's, Huntington's, Stroke, and Acquired Brain Injuries.

You will work closely with clients to develop personalised interventions, empower them to achieve their goals, and enhance independence in daily life. This includes supporting individuals in managing complex symptoms such as fatigue, sleep disturbance, cognitive changes, thermoregulation, and upper limb/hand dysfunction. You will also introduce advanced assistive technology solutions to improve quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct detailed OT assessments in various settings, including homes and workplaces, addressing daily living, physical, sensory, and cognitive needs.
  • Collaborate with clients, families, and external stakeholders to design and implement effective interventions and facilitate equipment provision.
  • Navigate funding models to ensure clients receive the necessary equipment.
  • Provide support with sensitivity and competence to clients requiring palliative care, ensuring dignity and comfort in their final stages.
  • Maintain precise, up-to-date client records to ensure high-quality, continuous care.
  • Share knowledge by mentoring OT students, OTAs, and volunteers, contributing to the development of future OT professionals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy or equivalent qualification.
  • Current registration with AHPRA.
  • Valid Australian C Class Driver's License with no restrictions.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain.
  • Current First Aid certificate.
