Job Title: Assistant Underwriter, Financial Lines

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Underwriter to join our Financial Lines team in Melbourne, VIC. As an Assistant Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Underwriters in all tasks related to underwriting and administration support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist Underwriters with renewal portfolio management, including pre-renewal notices, research, and pre-underwriting.
  • Act as the first point of contact for the Financial Lines team, providing exceptional customer service at all times.
  • Maintain policy records across our full suite of products and demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of our online quote portal and systems.
  • Prepare monthly reports and assist with credit control as needed.
  • Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including claims, actuary, and middle office teams.
  • Ensure adherence to Underwriting guidelines and service standards.
  • Promote a collaborative work culture and contribute to team success.
  • Ensure compliance with internal corporate regulations and standards.
  • Attend internal and external meetings and events with clients and brokers.
Requirements:
  • Recent experience in the insurance sector.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to represent the team as the first point of contact.
  • ANZIIF tier 2 qualification highly regarded (higher qualification welcome).
  • High attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to visualize, gather information, articulate, and solve problems.
  • Accountable, self-organized, and able to meet deadlines.
  • Working rights for Australia.
