About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Supervisor to join our team at JJ's Waste & Recycling. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading a team of waste collection professionals to effectively manage daily operational goals.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in operations management, with experience in leading teams and driving results. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet, as well as maintaining strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of 30+ operational staff to achieve daily operational goals
  • Assist the Victoria Council Contracts Manager on a day-to-day basis
  • Regular driving/collections responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain relationships with customers, team members, and other stakeholders
  • Mentor, train, and evaluate team members
  • Comply with laws, regulations, and requirements, including OH&S and return-to-work processes
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and suggest solutions
About You
  • Current HR (Heavy Rigid) Licence preferred
  • Experience in transport, logistics, or service industry highly regarded but not essential
  • Well-developed people management experience with solid time management skills
  • KPI-focused with the ability to perform under pressure
  • Ability to provide up-to-date VIC Roads Driving Records at interview stage
  • Able to successfully satisfy a pre-employment medical, drug, and alcohol testing
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Significant hands-on experience in an operations-oriented role
  • Track record of developing and driving continuous improvement
  • Experience with heavy vehicle operations and an understanding of general truck maintenance responsibilities
