Loadmaster Role

As a Loadmaster with the Australian Defence Force, you will be responsible for the safe loading and management of high-tech military transport aircraft. Your leadership and decision-making skills will be put to the test daily, as you calculate payload configurations in challenging environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage freight on the ground and while airborne, ensuring safe and efficient loading and unloading.
  • Brief personnel and supervise load teams to ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks.
  • Configure cargo compartments to enable safe weight distribution and optimize payload capacity.
  • Coordinate loading, airborne monitoring, and unloading of cargo, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Manage and facilitate airdrops, working closely with other team members to ensure successful operations.
  • Liaise with cargo providers and recipients to ensure smooth logistics and communication.

As an aircraft crew member, you will also assist with threat detection and search and rescue missions. Your ability to remain calm under pressure is crucial, as many missions rely on your successful completion of duties.
