This role offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with dementia.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing support and assistance with daily living activities, such as eating, dressing, bathing, and grooming
- Offering transportation services to clients
- Delivering respite care to clients and their families
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of client care plans and progress
- Communicating effectively with clients, their families, and other members of the care team
You will also be required to engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with the latest best practices and research findings in dementia care.
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate individual who is able to work effectively with diverse clients and understand the varying support needs based on ability, cultural background, and language requirements.
Key Qualifications and Skills- A minimum of high school education or equivalent
- Certificate 3 or 4 in Individual Support or willingness to pursue completion (highly regarded)
- Lived experience or paid experience working with people with disabilities
- A strong understanding of the NDIS and its guidelines
- The ability to work effectively with a diverse client base and understand different support needs
- Ongoing training and development opportunities
