**Teaching and Learning in a Diverse Community**:

The school's commitment to excellence in education has been evident since 1883. With an enrolment of 428 students, we cater to a diverse community comprising approximately 55% from non-English speaking backgrounds and 5% identifying as Aboriginal. Our Cultural Resident program plays a vital role in fostering students' understanding of culture, people, and country.

Our inclusive learning community is strengthened by the collaboration between teachers, parents, and staff. We take pride in meeting the needs of our students, providing innovative and flexible learning experiences that focus on literacy and numeracy. Our core integrated programs employ explicit and differentiated teaching strategies, with specialised support for students with varying needs.

The school also offers creative and performing arts opportunities, as well as sporting endeavours that cater to every student's potential skill level. Our Inclusive Education Unit comprises seven classes, where caring and expert staff provide individualised programs to meet the needs of students with disabilities.

**Key Selection Criteria:**

  • Approval to teach primary library or currently undertaking/enrolled in Teacher Librarian qualifications approved by the NSW Department of Education.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues to deliver explicit, innovative teaching across all curriculum areas K-6, while promoting critical and creative thinking, digital literacy, a love of literature, and public speaking programs.
  • Capacity to organise, manage, and implement a stimulating library learning environment that positively impacts teaching and learning.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build positive and effective relationships with students, staff, parents, and the wider community.

**Conditions:**

Temporary engagement until successful completion of the Teacher Librarian qualifications as recognised by the NSW Department of Education, to be completed within 24 months.
