Telecom Engineer Job Description

Amazon is seeking a highly skilled Telecom Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our cloud-based contact center, Amazon Connect. As a Telecom Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining our next-generation telecom infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conceptualize and design Amazon Connect's telecom infrastructure
  • Provide telecom expertise to drive business decisions
  • Lead and mentor other engineers
  • Collaborate with teammates and partners to resolve obstacles
  • Integrate new telephony providers to expand Amazon Connect's telecom infrastructure
  • Work closely with automation teams to define tools for scaling
  • Produce and review documentation for telecom network implementation and deployments
Requirements:
  • 4+ years of experience with major internet routing protocols
  • 4+ years of experience working in a Linux/Unix environment
  • Associate's degree
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in telecom network design, focused on SIP protocol, VoIP technologies, and telecom network operations
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of automation scripting experience using Python, Bash, Shell, and/or Perl
  • 4+ years of experience with open-source VoIP systems like Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, Kamailio, SIPp, SER, etc.
