About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our Pacific Infrastructure Program Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of capital works projects, including infrastructure projects overseas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the development, delivery, and implementation of capital works projects, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and high-quality outcomes.
  • Engage with key stakeholders, including Pacific Island nations, to manage project outcomes and further the objectives of the Pacific Policing Infrastructure Program.
  • Manage project procurement activities, including the negotiation of contracts and agreements, to ensure compliance with organizational directives and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide high-quality advice and progress reports to the Program Manager, Coordinator, and AFP Senior Management.
  • Represent the AFP at internal and external committee and stakeholder meetings, and undertake travel as required to oversee project delivery in the Pacific.
Requirements
  • Minimum of five years' experience in a like or related field, with demonstrated experience in delivering capital works projects.
  • Certificate IV in Project Management or other project management qualification.
  • Strong expertise in stakeholder engagement, management, and negotiation, with the ability to work effectively under pressure in a changing environment.
  • Proven ability to manage risk, make sound decisions, and use judgment across a range of issues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including Pacific Island nations, and to engage with both the Pacific Infrastructure leadership team and the program and project delivery teams within Defence.
