BHP Group seeks highly skilled and motivated individuals to join our team as Electrical Production Technicians.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to work within the Mt Arthur Coal handling Processing Plant (CHPP) at Muswellbrook.

You will be responsible for ensuring the continued operation of all CHPP streams from the ROM to train load-out.

Your work will contribute to optimal production, equipment performance and availability, as well as improving reliability and ensuring that we are well placed for future growth within our operations.

Your Key Responsibilities
  1. You will maintain high safety standards at the CHPP, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and procedures.
  2. You will operate Dozers to manage stockpiles and load trains, while ensuring grade, quality and plant throughput targets are achieved.
  3. You will identify and communicate opportunities to improve process and equipment reliability, engaging in safety initiatives and reporting on any unsafe equipment.
  4. You will carry out unplanned and planned routine maintenance, inspections, and checks to a range of equipment, and/or electrical networks.
  5. You will assist in resolution of mechanical issues affecting equipment performance and availability, maintaining a high level of housekeeping in all work areas.
  6. You will assist in resolution of electrical issues affecting equipment performance and availability, providing electrical trade skills to perform care maintenance tasks within the area.
About You
  • You possess an Electrical Trade Cert 3 or above (essential), along with an Electrical Workers license.
  • You have experience working in a similar role with exposure to maintenance work, preferably in a mining/minerals processing environment.
  • You are able to work autonomously, or as part of a team, making confident decisions relating to your work, or escalating if needed.
  • You are adaptable and responsive to change, as well as learning new information.
