The Opportunity

Pollen Ventures has identified a window of opportunity for an innovative B2B Marketplace product within the sustainability sector. With significant backing secured, a strong appetite already established in the market, and a timeline to launch, we are now seeking a Head of Product with previous founder experience to bring this product to life and navigate the complexities of building a new venture.

This role is crucial for turning our vision into a reality, driving the product from the discovery phase through to a successful launch. With a stake in the business, you'll live and breathe the product; its wins are your wins.

Key Responsibilities

  • Product Strategy and Vision
    • Establish product goals that help realise our product vision and strategy.
    • Build on existing market research and competitive analysis to inform strategic decisions.
  • Product Roadmap and Launch
    • Create and manage a robust product roadmap that balances short-term priorities with long-term strategic goals, ensuring the timely delivery of key milestones while adapting to market changes and customer feedback.
    • Oversee the end-to-end product development process from ideation to launch and iteration.
    • Implement best practices, including agile methodologies, user-centred design, and data-driven decision-making.
    • Ensure the product complies with industry standards and regulations, particularly in sustainability claims and the display of complex carbon data.
    • Collaborate and work with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, and sales, to bring seamless product development and execution.
  • Team Leadership and Management
    • Recruit and build a high-performing product team that can scale.
    • Model excellence, coach, and empower your team to succeed.
    • Foster a culture of innovation and excellence that encourages continuous improvement and growth.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Manage up: Regularly report to the board and steering committee on progress, challenges, and strategic decisions.
    • Work closely with senior executives to align on product initiatives with the business.
    • Seek feedback and counsel from experts in sustainability, manufacturing, and product strategy.

    • Shift and pivot as needed to adapt to changing market conditions and customer needs.
    • Make strategic decisions on fund allocation, ensuring efficient use of resources with a strong focus on cash flow management.
