Job Overview

As a Simulator Technical Specialist at Boeing, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Defence Simulation Environment, working closely with customers to deliver a range of activities, including Collective Training, Mission Planning and Rehearsals, Combined Arms training, and individual training for Customer Operators and Maintainers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Defence Simulator Environment, including simulator booking systems and system administration.
  • Operate simulators as a Simulator Technician and develop libraries of scenarios to support customer training needs.
  • Conduct system and network administration, including managing training IT infrastructure, desktop support, repairs, and testing.
  • Perform general inspections, conduct functional tests, and troubleshoot systems and support equipment to isolate faults and repair components.
  • Support Team Leads and Managers in day-to-day activities, including tracking risks, issues, action items, spares, repairs, technical enquiries, and KPI tracking.

Requirements

  • Qualification in Simulator Support and/or an IT/Computer/Network or related field.
  • Experience in an IT service environment using ITIL and a Defence Simulator Environment.
  • Knowledge and skills in the integration and operation of Live, Virtual, Constructive simulation and industry-leading simulation software.
  • Able to travel and work for up to 1 month or more at a time in different training locations.

Eligibility

  • Australian Citizenship to meet defence security requirements.
  • Able to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
  • May require a Foreign Work Authorisation (FWA) for this role, as determined by the Department of Defence.
