About the Role

Thiess is seeking a Senior Mining Engineer to join their team. This role will involve providing engineering support to the Australia West Growth and Sustainability corporate team, as well as current operating sites. The Senior Mining Engineer will be based in the West Perth office, but will travel to site as required to fulfill engineering activities and ensure optimum, economic, and safe extraction of elements and minerals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering support to the Australia West Growth and Sustainability corporate team and current operating sites.
  • Travel to site as required to fulfill engineering activities.
  • Ensure optimum, economic, and safe extraction of elements and minerals.
  • Develop and implement mining processes and systems in a brown or green field site.
  • Manage and maintain mining software experience, including Vulcan, Surpac, Datamine, Minesight, and Microsoft Office.
  • Develop and implement effective performance in achieving agreed HSE goals in support of the department, site, and company standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Manage and prioritize tasks to meet tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and/or Salesforce Administration.
  • Tertiary qualification in Economics, Business, or Science Engineering or a related field.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office 365 software.
  • Strong understanding of the Salesforce platform, best practices, and functionality.
  • Ability to design and implement new processes on the Salesforce platform and facilitate user adoption.
  • Ability to assess the impact of new requirements on Salesforce CRM and all upstream and downstream applications, systems, and processes.
  • Good understanding of governance principles.
  • Good understanding of contract law and contracting processes.
