Occupational Rehabilitation Specialist

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as an Occupational Rehabilitation Specialist. This role involves providing occupational rehabilitation services to clients with a range of conditions, both physical and psychological, and supporting them to achieve return to health and return to work outcomes.

The successful candidate will have a professional background in Psychology or Rehabilitation Counselling and will be able to apply their clinical knowledge to improve return to work outcomes. They will work collaboratively with injured workers, employers, medical and allied health professionals, and will have the support of a strong, close team of driven and energetic healthcare professionals.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Case management, including working with clients to develop and implement injury prevention and workplace education programs;
  • Applying clinical knowledge to improve return to work outcomes;
  • Working with employers and employees to develop and implement injury prevention and workplace education programs;
  • Working collaboratively with injured workers, employers, medical and allied health professionals;
  • Working across various schemes, including workers compensation, compulsory third party, life insurance, Comcare, Department of Veteran's Affairs, and employer-funded injury prevention programs;
  • Assisting clients to achieve return to health and return to work outcomes;
  • Completing a variety of assessments using clinical skills, including initial, workplace and vocational assessments to review diagnosis, support treatment plans, address psychosocial barriers to employment and identify suitable employment opportunities for workers who have sustained workplace injuries or injuries sustained from motor vehicle accidents.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology or Rehabilitation Counselling;
  • General or Provisional registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Psychologist or eligibility for Associate or Full membership with Australian Society of Rehabilitation Counsellors (ASORC);
  • Previous experience working in Occupational Rehabilitation industry would be highly regarded;
  • Fabulous communication skills, including the ability to work with clients and stakeholders;
  • Compassion and kindness, as well as empathy;
  • Well-developed time management skills;
  • A current NSW Driver's License and access to own car with comprehensive insurance.
