About the Role
The Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) is seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Digital Products team, you will play a critical role in analyzing audience data to generate insights that advance our digital products.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research into audience engagement with ABC Digital Products, and use insights from this work to inform strategic improvements to audience experiences with those products.
- Collaborate with the Product Insights Lead – Content and the Audience Data & Insights team to conduct quantitative research into audience engagement with ABC Digital Products.
- Generate data-driven insights to inform strategic growth opportunities for ABC Digital Products, including the application of personalisation to achieve organisational goals.
- Design, conduct, and report on experimental optimisations to audience experiences with the ABC Digital Products.
- Prepare and maintain documentation of analytic and experimental research, and prepare and present engaging presentations for a broad range of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
About You
- You have extensive experience in digital analytics and research practices, ideally in a media organisation, with a deep understanding of customer-focused data analytics.
- You hold relevant tertiary qualifications or substantial equivalent skills, knowledge and experience in data science, business analytics, behavioural sciences or applications within the workplace.
- You have substantial experience with experimental design, analysis, and reporting in a relevant discipline (e.g., product research, market research, psychology or human behavioural sciences).
- You have excellent ability to effectively communicate analytic and experimental research outcomes in written, verbal, and visual media to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- You have highly advanced experience using SQL to access and model large datasets, and Python or any other advanced analytics software package to analyse and visualise data.
- You have extensive experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Teams, and Sharepoint.
- You have experience with one or more business intelligence tools such as Microsoft Power BI or Tableau.
- You have excellent ability to anticipate and respond to business needs, and identify opportunity areas.
- You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work in a range of diverse teams, and to represent the ABC in industry forums and working groups.
