About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Educator to join our Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) team at Trinity College. As an Educator, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and engaging environment for children, promoting their physical and emotional development, and supporting their well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the overall supervision of children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Support and conduct safe, engaging, and fun activities for children, promoting their physical and emotional development.
  • Prepare experiences that facilitate and enhance child development based on current theoretical and practical knowledge, with the guidance of the OSHC Director.
  • Ensure the Service's policies, procedures, and routines are adhered to, maintaining a safe and healthy environment for children and staff.
  • Work within ACECQA, child-safe regulations, and the QIP, upholding the highest standards of child safety and well-being.
  • Implement programs that reflect the multicultural and social nature of the community, promoting the principles of equal opportunity and inclusivity.
  • Maintain confidentiality and implement positive behavior management procedures, ensuring a positive and respectful environment for all.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Approved qualifications as per ACECQA guidelines (Diploma or higher in teaching, education, education support, childcare, out-of-hours-school hours care, children's services, early childhood education and care, disability, behavioral and social sciences, community services, youth work, community development, health, allied health, sport and recreation, leisure and health, or creative arts).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, engaging professionally with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Availability to work mornings and afternoons, with some flexibility between, Monday to Friday.
  • Organisation, self-motivation, active listening, respect, care, and empathy – essential traits for an exceptional carer.
  • Ability to manage self and others in an emergency or stressful situation.
  • Compliance with and acknowledgment of the College's Child Safe Policy and adherence to the Child Safety Code of Conduct.
  • Valid Working with Children Check.
  • Completion of the RRHAN-EC Masterclass Certificate (https://www.education.sa.gov.au/working-us/rrhan-ec/masterclass-rrhan-ec).
  • Current First Aid, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma training (onsite training available).
