Senior Python Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled Python Developer to join our federal government client on a 12-month contract basis in Canberra. The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in Python 3 and experience with modern web application frameworks, databases, and development tools. This role involves working on a key project to migrate an old software stack to a new, modern, and secure stack. NV1 security clearance is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop scalable and secure Python applications using modern frameworks and tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to industry best practices and security standards.

Requirements:

  • Strong proficiency in the Python 3 programming language.
  • NV1 security clearance.
  • Experience with Python web application frameworks (e.g., Django, FastAPI, Flask).
  • Knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Cassandra).
  • Proficiency with SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
  • Familiarity with object storage (e.g., S3 API).
  • Experience with message queues/event streaming (e.g., Kafka, Pulsar, RabbitMQ/AMQP).
  • Knowledge of workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Nifi, Prefect, Airflow).
  • Experience in developing and consuming REST APIs / Micro-service architectures.
  • Front-end development skills (e.g., JavaScript, HTML, CSS).
  • Proficiency with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge and use of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Git, Ansible).
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies (e.g., Kanban, Scrum).
  • Demonstrated relevant experience and past performance in delivering similar goods and/or services.
