Senior Finance Officer Role Overview

This role provides financial support to the Aus/NZ Cancer Care division. The successful candidate will collaborate with the finance team to ensure timely, accurate and appropriate information.

About the Job

The Senior Finance Officer will be responsible for managing payments, processing weekly payments, and reconciling EFTPOS transactions. They will also provide advice on doctor's invoices and health funds, balance cash and credit card transactions, and monitor clearing accounts.

Responsibilities
  • Manage receipting of payments from VMOs and Hospitals
  • Process weekly payments following reconciliation of remittances
  • Populate and balance the Doctor's EFT spreadsheet
  • Process refunds and transfers as directed
  • Provide advice on doctors' invoices and payments or health funds
  • Balance cash, cheque and credit card transactions
  • Reconcile EFTPOS transactions to daily banking reports
  • Monitor clearing account for EFT payments received from health funds, and reconcile with all relevant practice management systems
Requirements
  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting or relevant qualification
  • Intermediate computer literacy (Word, Excel and email) combined with sound keyboarding skills
  • Proven ability to prioritise workload and forward plan to ensure work and information is complete and commitments are fulfilled
  • Proven ability to work independently while building collaborative relationships to develop, maintain and strengthen partnerships with customers, clients and colleagues
