Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a mid-level lawyer to expand their skills and progress with a global company, joining our Sydney or Melbourne team

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide timely and professional commercial legal advice to all aspects of Marsh & Mercer Australia businesses
  • Work on contracts with clients, suppliers, and the insurance market
  • Develop industry-specific materials such as binding authority, opinion letter, attestation, Authorised Representative agreement, or distributor agreement
  • Analyse and provide advice on new and/or changing laws and regulations
  • Identify liability exposure and provide solutions to manage and reduce risk to Marsh & Mercer
  • Effectively manage outside counsel and review of outside counsel work product
  • Supervise and develop junior team members
  • Liaise between the legal team and rest of the corporate group
  • Assist in producing reports, manuals, and presentations

  • Ability to work autonomously and accurately to meet multiple deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of writing and communication skills
  • Ability to draft and edit concisely
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
