Healthscope is seeking an experienced Administration Officer to join our team at John Fawkner Private Hospital on a part-time basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring patients have a positive experience during their care.
The hospital provides a comprehensive range of surgical, medical, cancer and critical care services. With advanced medical, surgical and diagnostic technology, we are focused on meeting the growing healthcare needs of patients in our local community and surrounding regions.

About the OpportunityThis part-time Administration Officer role requires you to be available to work weekend night shifts. As an experienced administration officer, your responsibilities will include handling various administrative tasks such as managing a busy reception desk, answering and redirecting calls, and preparing admission paperwork.
You will also be responsible for conducting follow-up requests, making reminder calls for visits, maintaining accurate record management, and preparing medical records. Additionally, you will collect co-payments and excess fees, collaborate with staff across various departments, and perform clerical tasks including data entry and filing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a busy reception desk
- Answer and redirect calls
- Organise appointments and prepare admission paperwork
- Conduct follow-up requests and make reminder calls for visits
- Maintain accurate record management and prepare medical records
- Collect co-payments and excess fees
- Collaborate with staff across various departments
- Perform clerical tasks including data entry and filing
Essential Criteria:
- Authority to Work in Australia
- Minimum 1 year of medical administration or reception experience required
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in Medical Software (i.e WebPAS)
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience in MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
