About the Role

Aurizon is currently seeking applications from safety-conscious and mechanically-minded individuals for an entry-level role as a Rollingstock Maintainer within the rail rollingstock maintenance industry.

This position is based at our depot on a permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct examinations and inspections of rollingstock, including brake testing as part of a train or for individual vehicles.
  • Control the movement of trains within the operational area and follow instructions related to train movements and safety protocols.
  • Undertake shunting and marshalling of wagons and trains as required.
  • Identify faults and perform repairs, servicing, and maintenance on rolling stock, both as part of a train and individually.
  • Carry out repairs, component change-outs, servicing, and modifications to rollingstock.
  • Provide support functions for the maintenance of locomotives, rollingstock, ancillary vehicles, machines, and equipment.
  • Supply material requirements to ensure the safe and efficient running of rollingstock.
  • Operate fixed and mobile plant, as well as signalling equipment.
  • Attend to various depot and yard duties.
About You

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with experience in fault identification and repair.
  • An unrestricted 'C' class Driver's License.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • The capacity to manage multiple competing priorities.
