Empower Students with Disabilities

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate In-Classroom Disability Support Officer to join our team. As part of our inclusive education team, you will work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to implement individual learning and behavioural support plans, provide one-on-one or small group assistance, and contribute to the creation of a safe, respectful, and empowering learning environment.

Your primary responsibility is to support students with disabilities and/or mental health conditions in achieving their academic goals. You will foster inclusion, independence, and equitable access to learning by providing tailored support services. This position involves working directly with students, teachers, and support staff to create a positive impact on student outcomes through meaningful engagement, adapted learning support, and inclusive practices.

A key aspect of this role is to understand the diverse needs of students in adult learning environments. You must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to build effective relationships with students, staff, and external stakeholders. Your professional conduct, confidentiality, and team-orientated mindset ensure that you contribute positively to the wider educational community.

To excel in this position, you should have a minimum of a Certificate III in Education Support or Disability Support (or equivalent experience). Experience in educational settings, particularly in TAFE or adult learning, is highly regarded. A sound understanding of current best practices in disability support is essential for success in this role.
