Job Title: Culinary Team Member

A key role within our culinary team, the Commis Chef will assist in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.

The successful candidate will be responsible for prepping, cooking, and presenting high-quality food made to order with attention to detail.

  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment to provide excellent internal service and promote a positive working atmosphere.
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment, adhering to workplace hygiene procedures (HACCP).
  • Report any issues affecting kitchen operations immediately to the Sous Chef.
  • Prepare and cook menu items to recipe and quality standards.
  • Be aware of meal times and the importance of timeliness, efficiency, and presentation of all meals.
  • Arrange, prepare, and break down buffet and food displays while maintaining a high standard of presentation.
Key Requirements:
  • Relevant Chef qualifications with Certificate III Commercial Cookery.
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to retain verbal instructions and follow directions.
  • Basic knowledge of guest dietary requirements, such as food allergies and intolerances.
  • Suitable knowledge of food safety.
  • Food Safety Certification an advantage.
  • Industry experience in high-volume kitchen operations.
