Board Director Position in Health Sector

As a Clinical Governance Expert on our Board, you will play a key role in shaping the future of Churches of Christ in Queensland.
You will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and guidance to ensure the clinical governance processes are robust, effective, and aligned with our mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Governance and Strategic Oversight: Contribute to the formulation of strategic directions and approve strategic plans.
- Executive Leadership: Engage in the recruitment and performance management of senior leaders.
- Financial Stewardship: Review and approve business plans and annual budgets.
- Policy Development: Contribute to the development of policies that promote best practices and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Support stakeholder engagement and networking on behalf of Churches of Christ in Queensland.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare governance, leadership, and clinical excellence, with a proven track record of success in large, complex health or aged care organisations.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Leadership in Health or Aged Care: Proven senior leadership experience in large, complex health or aged care organisations.
- Financial Acumen: Experience overseeing substantial budgets with demonstrated performance and accountability outcomes.
- Integrated Workforce Management: Significant experience leading integrated teams comprising clinical and non-clinical members.
- Clinical Governance Expertise: Experience overseeing comprehensive patient/resident safety and quality agendas, achieving hospital or aged care accreditation.
- Educational Background: Tertiary qualifications in health care management, business, finance, or related fields are highly desirable.
- Aged Care System Insight: Effective understanding of Australia's Aged Care system and the opportunities and challenges it faces both domestically and globally.
Eligibility Criteria:
- A committed Christian with a dedication to the mission and objects of Churches of Christ in Queensland.
- Ability to satisfy standards and legal requirements set by relevant authorities.
- Capacity to commit to the time and tasks required of a Board member.
- Not an employee or independent contractor of Churches of Christ in Queensland at the time of appointment or during the previous 24 months.
Remuneration:
Directors are remunerated to attract and retain appropriately qualified individuals. The base fee includes involvement in at least one committee.
