Job Description:

The ideal candidate will oversee the pre-construction design activities across multiple construction projects. This role involves collaborating with clients, project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee the pre-construction design activities across multiple construction projects
  • Collaborate with clients, project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery
  • Review project specifications and contracts to identify design requirements and constraints
  • Advise on project design schedules and budgets
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, contracts, and applicable regulations
  • Advise on buildability and methodology
  • Monitor project progress and update senior management on key milestones and potential issues
  • Identify and resolve design-related issues and escalate issues to senior management as needed
  • Ensure that project design records and documents are accurate and up-to-date
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management or engineering
  • 5 + years of experience in design management in the construction industry
  • Experience working on large-scale construction projects from $30m upwards
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of construction project management tools and software
  • Understanding of construction contracts and regulatory requirements
  • Familiarity with building codes and standards
Key Requirements:
  1. Strong background in design management
  2. Proven track record of delivering successful projects
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  4. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
