About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Respect Aged Care. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient monitoring of compliance functions and the implementation of various quality-related initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Audits and Assessments: Undertake a range of audits against the accreditation standards related to residential aged care and home care, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership: Work closely with the Chief Quality and Risk Officer to identify areas for continuous improvement and develop projects to support quality and compliance.
  • Develop and Implement Quality Initiatives: Assist and support the Chief Quality and Risk Officer in the development and implementation of best practice policy and process, ensuring a high level of quality and compliance.
  • Provide Clinical Governance Support: Develop and maintain a high-level working knowledge of electronic clinical support systems, providing clinical governance support to the team.
  • Support Continuous Improvement: Assist and support the Chief Quality and Risk Officer in developing, conveying, and delivering on individual and organisational plans for continuous improvement.
  • Risk Identification and Mitigation: Identify and mitigate risks to ensure the highest level of quality and compliance.
  • Trending and Analysis: Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Preparation for External Regulator Visits: Prepare for external regulator visits, including reaccreditation, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Education and Training: Provide education and training to staff on quality-related topics, as required.
  • Clinical Practice Oversight: Provide oversight and support of clinical practice, ensuring high-quality care is delivered to residents.
  • Meetings and Communication: Attend internal and external meetings, as required, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Relevant Qualifications: A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification.
  • Registration: Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Technical Skills: High-level ability to utilise information management and computer systems.
  • Knowledge of Aged Care Standards: Working knowledge of the requirements of the Home Care Packages Program, Aged Care Standards, Specified Care and Service Principles, and other relevant legislation and codes of practice.
  • Communication Skills: Sound communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with staff, residents, and external stakeholders.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Certification: NDIS Worker Screening certification.
