Botany Team Leadership Opportunity

This is a key leadership role within our Botany team, requiring a Senior-Principal level Botanist to establish a new position of Botany Team Leader.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, mentoring, coaching and contributing to the career development of the Botany team.

The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Leading and coordinating personnel contributing to botanical scopes of work
  • Project management of individual projects for botanical assessments, monitoring and related scopes of work
  • Overarching management of the portfolio of botanical projects, including appropriate prioritization and delegation
  • Client relationship management
  • Financial management of projects and budgets
  • Tenders, proposals and quotes for botanical scopes of work
  • Leading the delivery of botanical projects, and taking ultimate responsibility for study planning, HSE, travel and logistics for field trips, field surveys/monitoring, managing relevant subconsultants and technical review of assessment, monitoring and related reports

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in botany, ecology, biological science or environmental science, with relevant tertiary qualification (degree minimum), and a proven track record in an environmental consulting team.

In addition to their technical expertise, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate a can-do attitude, willingness to work harmoniously with valued clients and a high-performing and supportive team, as well as take pride in delivering high-quality outputs.
