About the Role

The Forensic Clinical Specialist will play a critical role in enhancing the capability of the Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol Services (MHDAS) clinical workforce to optimally assess, manage, and improve clinical outcomes for individuals with co-occurring mental health, offending, and problem behaviors.

The successful candidate will provide expert forensic mental health advice, consultation, education, and professional development to improve coordination and clinical pathways for transfer of care of the target consumer cohort.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing strategies to improve the clinical workforce's capacity to assess and manage complex mental health needs.
  • Collaborating with mental health services and justice services to develop strong relationships and quality improvement activities.
  • Leading and supporting the development of clinical programs and services to improve outcomes for individuals with co-occurring mental health and offending behaviors.

The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical expertise, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
