Legal Studies Teacher Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Legal Studies teacher to join our team. As a full-time, ongoing position, this role offers a flexible start date - either Term 4, 2025 or the beginning of the 2026 school year.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to develop strong analytical and evaluative skills in senior students, while guiding them to achieve VCE success and future education or career pathways.

About the Role
  • Plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons in VCE Legal Studies within the Victorian curriculum framework.
  • Design and administer assessments to measure students' understanding of legal concepts and their ability to apply legal reasoning and analysis.
  • Facilitate inquiry-based learning experiences that encourage students to explore legal issues, analyse real-world scenarios, and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Curriculum Development: Create comprehensive lesson plans that align with the Victorian curriculum framework, ensuring students gain a sound understanding of the Australian legal system.
  2. Assessment Design: Develop and administer assessments to evaluate students' knowledge and application of legal concepts, promoting critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  3. Inquiry-Based Learning: Facilitate interactive learning experiences that foster curiosity, analysis, and evaluation of legal issues, encouraging students to think critically and develop well-supported arguments.
Requirements
  • Completed relevant Qualifications in Education.
  • Maintain a valid and up-to-date VIT registration.
  • Have unrestricted working rights in Australia.
  • Demonstrate previous experience in teaching VCE Legal Studies in Australia/NZ.
