Parks Groundskeeper

The Parks Operator plays a vital role in maintaining parks and reserves according to service level requirements and schedules.

• Carrying out maintenance, minor construction, and cleaning in parks, sports fields, reserves, garden beds, and public land, such as grass cutting, edging, and manual excavation and construction works, to schedules and as directed.
• Operating plant and equipment for the maintenance of open space areas, including push mowers, whipper snipers, lawn edgers, ride-on lawn mowers, and other equipment.
• Ensuring all plant and equipment are operated safely, effectively, efficiently, and within manufacturer's guidelines, Council policies, practices, and work instructions.

We seek a passionate and hardworking individual to join our team. As a Parks Operator, you will be responsible for carrying out daily tasks, operating plant and equipment, and ensuring the safe operation of machinery.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

• Certificate II in Horticulture or related field with industry experience, or extensive experience in parks maintenance, general horticultural practices, and construction and landscaping techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to work in small teams to ensure duties are performed to set standards and within established timeframes.
• Demonstrated experience operating parks maintenance-related small plant and equipment.

2. Completing and providing accurate documentation and reporting forms, including timesheets, hazard report forms, WHS documentation, and forms.

In your role, you will assist team leaders in maintaining parks and reserves according to service level requirements and schedule.
