Job Title:

Design Engineer

Job Description: The role of a design engineer is to aid project managers and engineers with various tasks on projects. This involves supporting teams with analysis, design, and reporting tasks. Design engineers must develop and maintain competencies consistent with the practice of professional engineers. They must ensure that all work is undertaken in accordance with appropriate legislation, corporate requirements, and systems.

Key responsibilities include technical reporting, coordinating with other engineering disciplines, participating in interdisciplinary workshops, liaising with consultants and contractors, assisting with marketing and promotion, preparing construction documentation and specifications, providing construction support, writing proposals and reports, directly contacting clients, visiting sites for inspections, scoping projects, and performing project engineering and management activities.

To succeed in this position, you'll bring relevant tertiary qualifications in civil and/or structural engineering, clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, a working knowledge of the MS Office suite of tools, and experience using AutoCAD or similar modeling tools. You should also have a strong desire to learn and solve problems in a team context, be able to multitask and self-prioritize workload, and possess high attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Civil and/or Structural Engineering.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of the MS Office suite of tools.
  • Experience using AutoCAD or similar modeling tools.
