Poultry Farm Labourer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated poultry farm worker to join our team in Wellington, NSW. As a key member of our farm operations, you will play a vital role in maintaining high standards of animal welfare and farm efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Control pests and vermin to ensure a healthy and safe working environment
• Operate farming equipment to maintain farm operations and ensure efficient production
• Prepare and clean sheds, equipment, and spreading litter for new bird placement
• Set up for depopulation and cleanout, ensuring a smooth and efficient process
• Catch and hold birds, and perform other aspects of bird handling and welfare activities
• Perform general maintenance of poultry farm grounds, including cleaning and disinfecting equipment and buildings
• Dismantle farm equipment as needed, and collect, grade, and store eggs according to company specifications
• Perform vaccinations as required, ensuring the health and well-being of our birds

Requirements

• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment
• No history of asthma or dust allergies, due to the nature of the work environment
• Previous experience in animal handling and a strong work ethic
• Physical fitness and health to handle the demands of the role
• A strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
