About the Role

This role is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the grounds and facilities of a school in Melbourne's Northern Metropolitan region.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in gardening and maintenance, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain the school's gardens and grounds, including planting, pruning, and weeding.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and inspecting toilets, playgrounds, and other facilities.
  • Implement waste management strategies, including recycling and composting.
  • Assist with events and functions, preparing buildings and grounds for special occasions.
  • Undertake basic landscaping and oversee gardening tasks, including mowing, trimming, and spraying.
Selection Criteria
  1. Demonstrated ability to efficiently manage and maintain grounds and gardens, while following health and safety protocols.
  2. Capacity to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, including staff, students, and visitors.
  3. Ability to use software and systems to maintain data and compliance documentation.
  4. Capacity to act as liaison for contractors and suppliers.
