Business Development Manager
About This Role
This position leads on selected business development and capture activities across the aerospace and maritime domains in Australia and New Zealand. The primary aim is to build credible opportunity pipelines with a clear route to contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop strategic partnerships to drive business growth and secure order intake for services and product sales.
- Leverage market opportunities and develop new products by identifying and securing new markets and applications.
- Lead bid teams and ensure effective capture planning, execution, and submission.
- Shape client perspectives regarding our capabilities successfully.
- Maintain high-level relationships with target organisations and executive engagements.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- STRATEGY AND LEADERSHIP
- Develop and maintain strong relationships across business units to support in-service opportunities and customer procurement policy development.
- Identify and prioritise threats and opportunities for our organisation in target markets.
- Enhance our Company's strategic position through stakeholder analysis, communication plans, and M&A efforts.
- Define external communication strategies and execute them effectively.
- Develop and maintain customer and end-user relationships.
- Support public relations and media campaigns.
- Drive political strategic analysis and stakeholder engagement.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in a relevant field.
- 5-8 years of job-related experience.
- Minimum 10 years of pertinent general defence experience.
- Australian/New Zealand security classification.
- Experience operating at an executive/senior level.
- Tertiary qualifications in a technical field or Business/MBA.
- Sales/marketing experience in the Defence domain.
- Experience as a Capture Manager for major capital acquisition programs.
- Participated in significant CASG (ASDEFCON) Defence Bids.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
- Strategic partnering and teaming agreements.
- Commercial and business acumen.
- Financial literacy.
