Administration Officer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Administration Officer to manage various administrative tasks in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcoming patients and visitors, and managing reception, phone, and email enquiries.
  • Confirming health fund coverage and preparing self-funding quotes.
  • Coordinating patient admissions, including ambulance check-ins.
  • Processing payments, including cash handling and EFTPOS transactions.
  • Completing accurate data entry to maintain up-to-date patient records.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • You will bring professionalism, empathy, and strong administrative capabilities, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Previous experience in hospital or medical administration is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Meditech and/or Gentu systems is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with accurate data entry and keyboard skills, is essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational ability is required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both in person and over the phone, are essential.
