As a leader in patient care, you will oversee the management and delivery of healthcare services at our hospital. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that nursing and midwifery practices are safe and efficient, while maintaining high standards of care through quality improvement initiatives.

Effective leadership and coordination skills are essential for this role, as you will be responsible for leading and directing multidisciplinary teams at the ward or unit level. You will also be responsible for monitoring and managing business functions and processes, demonstrating your capability through attitude, skills, behaviour and attributes such as broad midwifery experience and knowledge, professional integrity, ethical conduct, accountability, advocacy, enabling others, and effective team work.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have current registration as a Registered Midwife with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia, relevant management tertiary qualification or equivalent work experience, and demonstrated knowledge and experience in the management and delivery of health care services. You will also need to have proven ability in innovative clinical service delivery, harm minimisation and practice development, effective interpersonal and communication skills, and proven ability to create and maintain a positive workplace culture.

  • Current registration as a Registered Midwife with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Relevant management tertiary qualification or equivalent work experience, or a combination of study and work experience with a demonstrated commitment to professional development.
  • A demonstrated knowledge and experience in the management and delivery of health care services.
  • Proven ability in innovative clinical service delivery, harm minimisation and practice development.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills that demonstrate the ability to engage, enable and manage teams.
  • Proven ability to create and maintain a positive workplace culture and articulate and achieve a vision for midwifery services.
