Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced leader to fill the role of Service Director. This position will be responsible for leading a team of staff, allocating resources, and prioritizing work tasks according to departmental procedures and statutory delegations.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of fostering a culture of appreciative inquiry, promoting quality service delivery, and supporting staff development. They will also be able to develop and implement high-quality placement options in consultation with stakeholders.

In addition, the Service Director will provide proactive support and advice to regional management on child protection service outcomes and performance agreements. They will engage with the local community, gather feedback, and ensure service delivery meets community needs.

The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, with the ability to lead system development and monitor performance to ensure consistency with the new practice framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of staff, allocate resources, and prioritize work tasks according to departmental procedures and statutory delegations.
  • Foster a culture of appreciative inquiry, promote quality service delivery, and support staff development.
  • Develop and implement high-quality placement options in consultation with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Degree in a relevant field (e.g. social work, business administration).
  • Proven experience in leadership roles, particularly in the child protection sector.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
