About the Role

MRAEL, in partnership with Woodman's Glass & Aluminium, is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join their team as a Glass and Glazing Apprentice.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain a nationally recognized qualification and become trade certified in the Certificate III in Glass and Glazing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support experienced glaziers in installation and repair tasks to learn techniques and best practices.
  • Learn to accurately measure and cut glass and aluminium using appropriate tools and equipment, ensuring precise dimensions for installations.
  • Safely transport and handle glass and framing materials, adhering to safety protocols to prevent accidents.
  • Organise and prepare job sites by setting up tools, clearing debris, and ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
  • Assist in the installation of windows, mirrors, storefronts, shower screens, and other glass structures, including applying caulking and adhesives as directed.
  • Participate in the maintenance and repair of existing glass installations, including the replacement of broken or cracked glass.
  • Follow safety regulations and guidelines to ensure personal safety and the safety of team members, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assist in tracking materials used on job sites and help maintain inventory levels.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will be an eager and motivated individual with a passion for glass and craftsmanship. You will have good communication skills, seek out opportunities to learn, and show initiative in your everyday duties.

  • Manual driver's license
  • Year 12 high school completion (strongly desired)
  • This is a physically demanding role - ability to lift heavy objects (work may be performed indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions)
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening

The recruitment process will include basic literacy and numeracy aptitude testing.
